Casa Romero

You will find Casa Romero (Rosemary Cottage), after a short walk down a winding path, through
luxuriant, colourful gardens filled with many rosemary and lavender bushes. This two-person cottage
nestles in the corner of what was originally the farmyard. You enter the cottage from the walled,
stone-paved patio.

Living area
The kitchen-living room area is spacious, light and comfortably furnished. The
kitchen is well equipped with most modern utensils. There is a
dining area with a wooden table and chairs.
The living area has a coffee table, two traditional built in sofas with plenty of loose cushions and a wood-burning stove for
cooler evenings. One of the sofas can also be used as a comfortable bed to sleep a third guest.The living room
window opens onto the garden and offers you views up into the Alcornocales natural park.
Outside, on the patio, there is a built-in barbecue and wooden table with benches for al fresco dining.
From the patio you can walk through to the streamside cottage garden with its lawn and densely planted
flower borders. This is a perfect place for you to sit and watch the various species of birds in the
wild olive trees and gorse bushes across the stream.

Bedroom
The
bedroom has a built-in double bed and wardrobe with a tiled
front, typical of Andalucian Cortijos. There is a wooden chest of drawers and bedside table. The bathroom
is tiled in traditional blue and white and has a full-length bath with shower attachment, washbasin
and toilet.
The back door of the cottage opens onto a large furnished Cloister Court with high, beamed ceilings. This
is a beautiful place for you to sit at any time of year, perhaps with a cup of coffee, or something
stronger, and enjoy the surrounding gardens and the superb view of Jimena de la Frontera with
its castle on the hilltop.
