Casa Golondrinos

Casa Golondrinos (Swallow Cottage) is a two-person cottage that was part of the original farm stable block. We have carefully restored and converted it into a spacious self-contained dwelling with high, beamed ceilings that help to maintain coolness during the warmth of the summer. For those cooler evenings, you can light the wood-burning stove in the living room/kitchen.

The kitchen is fully equipped with tiled work surfaces, traditional earthenware sinks and wooden table and chairs. From the kitchen window you can look out onto the Cloister Court filled with a mass of colourful, scented flowers.

With plenty of natural light, the living room area has a coffee table and a traditional built-in rustic sofa with comfortable cushions. The sofa can also be used as a comfortable bed to sleep a third guest. The large window looks out onto the stone-paved patio with its built-in barbecue and wooden table with benches for al fresco dining.

Leading off the patio is the large cottage garden, which is partly shaded by an old wild olive tree. The garden has a central lawn, with a profusion of flowering borders and a bench for you to sit and enjoy the views and perfumes.

The bedroom has a solid, built-in bed and wardrobe typical of an Andalucian Cortijo. There is also a wooden chest of drawers and bedside cabinet.

The bathroom is tiled in traditional blue and white and has a full-length bath with shower attachment, toilet and washbasin.

From the living room, a door leads out to the large furnished Cloister Court. This overlooks a sunken garden filled with an abundance of scented flowers, which cover the Cloister during the summer months, providing shade and coolness. In the autumn we cut them back so that you can enjoy the sun's warmth and the breathtaking view of Jimena de la Frontera and its hilltop castle.

Our large swimming pool, which is for the use of all guests, is set in beautiful surroundings and is approached from a rustic footbridge over a stream
